American had never previously finished on the podium but came out on top in Lac-Beauport
Karenna Elliott scooped her maiden World Cup victory on a thrilling day of aerials action in Lac-Beauport.
The American had never previously competed in a big final but excelled under the pressure, a score of 89.18 putting her comfortably clear of runner-up Danielle Scott.
Scott has now finished third in three of the four aerials events this season and leads the overall standings in the discipline from Winter Vinecki, who didn’t compete on Saturday, and Marion Thenault, who led after qualifying but had to settle for third.
The men’s event was won by Qi Guangpu, his second aerials success of the campaign.
Qi finished more than five points clear of compatriot Wang Xindi in second, with Emile Nadeau claiming the second podium of his career by replicating compatriot Thenault and earning a third-placed finish on home snow.
