There will be a British battle at the T20 World Cup after England and Scotland were placed in the same group. The event this summer will also see a North American match-up as co-hosts United States will face off against Canada in the tournament opener. There is also the tantalising prospect of a huge clash between India and Pakistan in New York. The final will take place in Barbados on June 29.
England will face Scotland at the T20 World Cup after both were placed in Group B for this summer’s tournament.
England will arrive in the West Indies and the United States as defending champions after their victory in 2022, and they will face Australia, Namibia, Oman and Scotland in the group stage.
The top two teams from each group will advance to a Super 8 Stage, from where the top four will move into the semi-finals.
The final will take place in Barbados on June 29.
Co-hosts United States have been placed in Group A, where they will face huge matches against India and Pakistan. Canada and Ireland make up Group A.
West Indies have a fine record as two-time winners, and the co-hosts will take on New Zealand, Afghanistan, Uganda and Papua New Guinea in Group C.
South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal make up Group D.
England and Scotland have never played each other at a T20 World Cup, but that will change when they lock horns in Barbados on June 4.
The tournament will get underway with a North American clash, with United States taking on Canada in Dallas on June 1.
Many eyes will be drawn to the huge clash between India and Pakistan. The two rivals will face each other at Eisenhower Park in New York on June 9.
The Super 8 will see teams split into two groups of four (A1, B2, C1 and D2 in one group, and A2, B1, C2 and D1 in the other).
The top two from each pool will progress to the semi-finals which are due to be played on June 26 (Guyana) and June 27 (Trinidad).
There will be 55 games in total played at six venues in the West Indies (Kensington Oval, Barbados; Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad; Providence Stadium, Guyana; Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua; Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, St Lucia; Arnos Vale Stadium, St Vincent) and three grounds in the USA (Eisenhower Park, New York; Lauderhill, Florida; and Grand Prairie, Texas).
