Sunday’s Paper Round focuses on Jarrad Branthwaite, who could be sold by Everton before July with Manchester United ready to make their move. Elsewhere, Tottenham have stepped up their interest in Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Giorgi Sudakov, and Arne Slot could make Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville “one of his first summer transfer targets” if he is appointed Liverpool manager.

Reported Manchester United target Jarrad Branthwaite may need to be sold by Everton before July, according to The Sun.

The Red Devils have long been linked with a move for the defender and could land their man before June 30.

The outlet notes: “Everton may need to sell Merseyside derby hero Jarrad Branthwaite before June 30 to beat another financial rap.

“Sean Dyche would love the centre-back, 21, to stick around for another season at least.

“But the club’s precarious position off the pitch makes it likely they will need to cash in on Branthwaite — even if the long-awaited takeover by 777 Partners goes ahead.

“Manchester United are favourites to sign Branthwaite and will exploit Everton’s desperate need for cash before this season officially ends in June to force down their £80million valuation.

“The Toffees have already been docked a total of eight points for breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules during the last two assessment periods.

“Selling Branthwaite before June 30 would ease pressure on the next set of accounts.”

Tottenham have stepped up their interest in Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Giorgi Sudakov by reportedly meeting his representatives.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye during a standout campaign for the Ukrainian giants and Spurs could be in pole position to acquire his services.

“Tottenham met with the agent of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Giorgi Sudakov in midweek to discuss a potential summer transfer deal,” the Mirror writes.

“The 21-year-old starlet recently signed a new long-term contract extension with the Ukrainian giants which includes a whopping release clause worth a staggering £127.7 million.

“Sudakov, who is represented by Ukrainian agency ProStar, has been floated to a number of top European clubs and Spurs are among his growing list of admirers.

“In fact, his agent Vadym Shablii was in north London on Wednesday and posed for a pitch-side snap at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he ramps up discussions ahead of the opening of the transfer window.

“Tottenham are thought to be keen on the player, however, Shakhtar are looking to spark a bidding war which is not in Spurs’ interest. Juventus are also keen while Napoli saw a £34m offer for Sudakov rejected out of hand this winter.

“Ange Postecoglou’s side could also encounter problems with Shakhtar if they decided to pursue a deal as they previously angered their counterparts when tying up the signing of winger Manor Solomon last summer.”

Arne Slot could make Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville “one of his first summer transfer targets” if he is appointed Liverpool manager.

That’s according to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, which claims Slot is “wild” about the forward who has scored 20 goals for Leeds in the Championship this season.

“Incoming Liverpool manager Arne Slot has reportedly made Crysencio Summerville one of his first summer transfer targets,” the report states.

“Slot appears to be all set to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield come the end of the season and the current Feyenoord manager has seemingly wasted no time in identifying possible recruits to freshen up the Reds squad.

“According to a Dutch outlet 1908.nl, via Anfield Sector, Slot is ‘wild’ about the Leeds winger Summerville, who has been linked to a host of clubs as the transfer window approaches.

“The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa are all said to be interested in the 22-year-old’s services following a remarkable season at Elland Road.”
