Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez both scored in stoppage time as West Ham secured a dramatic 3-1 victory against Everton in the Premier League. Beto had given Everton the lead at Goodison Park, but Kurt Zouma’s equaliser and late goals from Soucek and Alvarez changed the outcome of the game. Elsewhere, Fulham and Newcastle won 3-0 against Brighton and Wolves respectively.
West Ham pulled off a dramatic comeback against Everton, winning 3-1 after two goals in stoppage time.
After Beto missed a penalty in a goalless first half, the Portuguese striker made amends by putting Everton ahead with a back-post header in the 56th minute.
Kurt Zouma equalised just six minutes later, and it looked as if the points would be shared at Goodison Park.
But Tomas Soucek’s thunderous half-volley gave West Ham the lead as the match entered injury time, before Edson Alvarez secured the victory in the 95th minute.
West Ham rose to seventh in the Premier League table, while Everton, who have gone without a win since December 16 but whose point deduction was reduced from 10 to six points earlier this week, are five points above the relegation zone in 16th.
Elsewhere, both Newcastle and Fulham recorded comfortable 3-0 victories against Wolves and Brighton respectively.
It was Newcastle’s first home win in the Premier League since December 16, with Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon and Tina Livramento all on the scoresheet.
Isak finished off a counter-attack in the 14th minute, before Gordon capitalised on a mistake by Wolves goalkeeper Sa to give Newcastle a 2-0 lead going into the second half.
Livramento wrapped up the victory in stoppage time with his first goal for Newcastle, helping the team to eighth in the table. Wolves fell to 10th following the defeat.
Fulham were equally at ease against Brighton. Harry Wilson curled in the opener in the 21st minute, before setting up Muniz for the second.
Adama Traore then scored his first goal for Fulham in injury time, celebrating with the home fans at Craven Cottage.
Fulham remain in 12th, while Brighton, whose mid-week UEFA Europa League tie against Roma will be shown live on TNT Sports and discovery+, drop down to ninth.
Liverpool secured a crucial 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest to remain top of the Premier League table, with Darwin Nunez scoring a last-gasp winner.
Tottenham came back against Crystal Palace to win 3-1, while Brentford and Chelsea played out a 2-2 draw.
